How To Market Your Internet Business - A Beginner’s Approach
Posted in Network Marketing on November 22nd, 2009 by Ryan Biddulph –
Internet marketing may appear to be daunting to a newbie online entrepreneur. You head may spin on hearing about SEO’s, SEM’s, free ads, article submissions, and co-ops. If you adopt a step-by-step approaching in beginning a campaign marketing online is not a difficult task.
The primary goal is to increase the volume of web traffic to you website. The best way to do this is to achieve a high ranking within a search engine. Two factors which raise a site’s ranking are content and backlinks.
Create Quality Content
A site with quality content will receive a higher search engine ranking. Ensure that your site’s content is updated frequently with fresh and relevant material. Present fact-based material in an easy to read fashion. Throw in your individual flair. Focus on the facts. Leave the running sales pitch to desperate internet marketers.
Set Up Backlinks
Receiving backlinks from high ranking sites boosts search engine positioning. Social networking pages are quality backlink sites.
Use Social Networking Sites
Set up a profile on pages like twitter and facebook. Make friends, network, and provide meaningful content related to your opportunity.
Social networking sites frown on spamming or blatant advertising. Keep your content and chatter flowing. Throw in an ad here and there.
Free Advertising
Free advertising may initially comprise a large part of your strategy. Classified sites that offer free posting services are another avenue to get your word out on the cheap. Some sites make your ad more visible for a nominal fee. Run a web search on “free advertising” or “free advertising online” and you’ll receive a preliminary list of free advertising sites.
Outsource
The most hands-off marketing strategy is to outsource your campaign. This is called a co-op, or co-operative campaign. If you go this route I strongly suggest to practice basic marketing methods in conjunction with your use of an outsourcing company. Obtain a working knowledge of internet marketing by trial and error. You’ll understand what strategies your co-op is using. You’ll also know if they’re doing a good job. There’s a certain amount of creative license being lent to an outsourcer. Your name is attached to their product.
Publish Articles
Submit informative articles to multiple publishers. Ezinearticles.com and articledashboard.com are two publishers who I use. Position yourself as an authority. Accentuate your uniqueness. If it interests you, write about it. This practice increases your network. The more varied the interests, the more varied the audience.
Practice each method I’ve discussed for a set time daily. Successful internet marketing is based on trial, error, and persistence.
