Which Home Based Opportunity Type Are You?

Posted in Network Marketing on September 2nd, 2010 by Ryan Biddulph – Comments Tags:

creator

If you run a home based opportunity chances are you fit into one of two categories: the creator or the networker. To be successful you should create and network but it makes sense to play to your strengths while improving your weaknesses.

1 - The Creator

The creator loves to write blog posts, articles and shoot videos. They know their craft inside out and can relay their knowledge in an entertaining and informative manner.

They live to create. There’s nothing better in the world than to sit down and go on a spree of inspired action.

Creators may or may not shun networking. That’s OK, provided you so some networking. It’s difficult to advance quickly without networking as many of your creative ideas have their root in inspiration received from visiting other blogs, reading articles and chatting on social networks.

2 - The Networker

The networker loves to reach out to scores of people each day. They are excited to meet new people, build relationships and make connections.

They like to engage on social networks. They spend time building trust while sharing the benefits of their opportunity. Networking types leverage their time by reaching the networks of their buddies. It’s a win-win situation. They establish collaborative partnerships, create business ventures and put themselves “all over the place” by commenting on multiple blogs and popping up on everybody’s social networking site.

Networkers may avoid creation to some degree, which isn‘t all that bad. You won’t need to post blog entries daily but consider writing at least once to twice a week. Shoot videos and churn out articles. Develop authority because networking alone is not good enough. You may connect with prospects but if you don’t know what you’re talking about it’s difficult to pitch an attractive sell. Know your home based opportunity well enough to present it in a simple yet detailed manner.

Play to your strengths but develop your weaknesses. Creating and networking both have their place and when you can improve in both areas on a daily basis you are bound to be successful.

Where to Search for Online Business Opportunity Ideas

Posted in Network Marketing on August 31st, 2010 by Ryan Biddulph – Comments Tags: , , ,

The online business opportunity niche continues to grow. Entrepreneurs seek multiple streams of income while working from the comfort of their home. Enter an online business.

Don’t think that running a business online is all play, no work. It takes drive and belief in yourself to succeed with an online business opportunity. Don’t be intimidated; get the basics down pat and you can progress quickly.

You might encounter a few hyped up work at home opportunities. Don’t dismiss them. Dig deeper. Don’t be swayed by the emotionally charged opinions of others. For example you might believe ventures like MLM and cash gifting are illegal, or at the very least scams. Deeper due diligence reveals neither supposition is true.

1 - Blogs

Blogs provide a dependable resource for the aspiring home based entrepreneur. Reputable blogs have solid readerships or a blogger who has authority. Check for value-packed articles. If the blogger knows business and how to market that business chances are they are engaged in a potential lucrative opportunity.

2 - Articles

Articles offer an accurate source of entrepreneurial ideas. Most ezines don’t tolerate spamming, which is good for you. Search the home based business, business opportunity and entrepreneur categories. You might find network marketing, MLM, cash gifting and affiliate marketing articles. Sift through them, take notes and begin to formulate opinions.

3 - Forums

Work at home forums, home based business forums and internet marketing forums provide a rich source of business ideas. Join the club and ask questions. Use the search feature. Dig deep into the archives for opportunities.

Forums tend to attract folks with charged opinions. The truth usually lies somewhere in between the viewpoints of the polar opposites chatting on a thread. Don’t form the habit of believing anything without thinking critically. Adopt an open mind.

4 - Social Networks

Facebook, LinkedIn and twitter advertise online business opportunity ideas. Social networks tend not to tolerate spam. You have a good shot at finding legitimate opportunities here. Look for work at home, network marketing, MLM and cash gifting groups or fan pages.

Gravitate to the expert’s profiles. Check their fan count or twitter following. Is it sizable and do they engage? You might have a winner. What do they think is the next big money maker?

These are only a few locations where you can find information about an online business opportunity. Get comfortable surfing the web and chatting with online entrepreneurs. Keep you ear to the ground.

7 Reasons Why People Fail with a Home Based Opportunity

Posted in Network Marketing on August 29th, 2010 by Ryan Biddulph – Comments Tags: ,

Running a home based opportunity can be rewarding but demanding. The failure rate is high. Here’s are the reasons why:

1- Believing that a home based business is easy.

It’s not. It takes time and effort to build a business, online or offline. Eventually it becomes more simple. When capital rolls in you can automate processes. Businesses can go on auto-pilot when you have the money to adequately leverage. Then business becomes more simple, and easier too.

2 - Adopting the old scattershot approach.

I’m convinced that the number one mistake of new online entrepreneurs is neglecting to concentrate a target market. They hit the ground running, but where to? Usually they try to find people who aren’t interested in a home based opportunity. After a while they get burnt out, fed up and quit.

3 - No personal development.

You must invest at least one to two hours of personal development daily to succeed with your online business. You are probably programmed to fail. We are naturally lazy and fall in love with a life of ease. To remedy this frame of mind personal development must be a habit. Every day, no exception.

4 - Not enough networking.

Don’t fear networking. Some lack the confidence to reach out to more experienced mentors while others let their ego call the shots, thinking they can do it all on their own. Either way, you are doomed if not networking every day. Save yourself months or years of effort. Network with people who have been there. Learn from their mistakes, tap into their networks and build business partnerships.

5 - Not enough creating.

To be trusted develop authority. Authority means writing articles, running a blog and shooting videos. Without having a firm command of your niche people won’t gravitate toward you, and it becomes easier to throw in the towel when nobody seems interested in what you have to offer. Help people make money by giving away value-packed content. Consider authoring ebooks and writing special reports. Give freely to receive freely.

6 - Neglecting list building.

List building is a fundamental aspect of running a home based opportunity. Without a list you can’t forge trust and without trust you won’t make many sales. Build relationships through your list. Provide opt-in boxes on your blog or social networking sites. Link up to your squeeze page. Include a call to action and offer valued giveaways like ebooks or a free newsletter.

7 - Not enough converting.

It’s great to have a big list but if you aren’t converting it’s moot. No conversion = no money = more likely to fail. Give away sick amounts of value AND include a call to action. Have confidence in yourself and your offering! Prospects pick up on this confidence - or lack thereof - and respond appropriately.

Failure with your online gig can be avoided if you follow my tips. Put them into action now and begin to prosper.

3 Critical Network Marketing Skills

Posted in Network Marketing on August 28th, 2010 by Ryan Biddulph – Comments Tags:

networkmarketing

3 network marketing skills which are vital to your success are relationship building, content creation and converting. Each talent is simple to develop if you remain persistent in doing so.

Relationship Building

Trust forms the basis of most sales. For a person to buy something from you they usually trust you.

Be transparent. Build a list through which you develop relationships. Maintain a presence on social networking sites.

Content Creation

Create value in the form of steady, useful content. Write articles, upload videos and publish blog posts on a consistent basis. Establish authority. Become a lazy expert. Spend most of your time creating. Use automated systems to distribute your content.

Converting

Learn to convert. Conversion is a stumbling block for new network marketing entrepreneurs. Build a list with a clear and definite call to action. Learn to steer prospects with your resource boxes and blog. Have the close in mind at all times.

What skills would you add to the list?
